App: FrameJam (Android)

Thank you for using FrameJam. This policy explains what data the app accesses, why, and what happens to it. In short: everything stays on your device. FrameJam does not upload your photos, videos, or any personal data to any server.
FrameJam does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Specifically, the app:
All processing — photo/video decoding, collage composition, encoding, and export — happens entirely on your device.
The app requests only the permissions strictly required to build a collage from your own media and save the result back to your gallery.
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES | Show your photo library in the media picker so you can pick pictures for a collage. Android 13+. |
READ_MEDIA_VIDEO | Show your video library so you can build video collages. Android 13+. |
READ_MEDIA_AUDIO | Let you add a background music track (from your own audio library) to a video collage. Android 13+. |
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE | Same purpose as the READ_MEDIA_* permissions on Android 12 and older. |
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE | Save the finished collage back to your gallery on Android 10 and older. On newer Android versions the app uses the scoped MediaStore API and does not need this permission. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Show a progress notification while a video collage renders in the background, and a completion notification when it is done. Optional — the app still works if you deny it, you just will not see progress updates. Android 13+. |
FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROCESSING | Keep the video-export process running while it renders, so the export completes reliably even if you switch apps or turn the screen off. |
Only files you explicitly select in the picker are read. The app does not scan or index your library, and the picker only shows a filtered list from system MediaStore for you to choose from.
Pictures/FrameJam/ (photos) or
Movies/FrameJam/ (videos). When you tap Share inside the app, Android's standard share sheet opens and hands the file to whichever app you choose (WhatsApp, Instagram, email, etc.). Once the file leaves FrameJam, the receiving app's own privacy policy applies. FrameJam itself does not transmit anything.
FrameJam uses well-known open-source libraries that run entirely on your device:
None of these libraries send your media or personal data off-device in the way we use them.
FrameJam is a general-purpose creative tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app does not collect any personal data, it does not knowingly collect information from children.
If the app's data-handling practices change, this document will be updated and the "Effective date" at the top will be revised. Since the app is distributed via the Google Play Store, material changes will also be noted in the app's Play Store listing.
